These announcements are especially for club officers. Notice that these announcements provide additional information that may not be included in the District 3 Newsletter just distributed to all members.
IMPORTANT!!!
SUMMER TLI – OFFICERS TRAINING REPORT
Club officers, please go to https://aztoastmasters.org/members-clubs/tli-officer-training/ and verify that the Officers Trained report accurately shows the list of officers that attended from your club. A minimum of 4 club officers must be trained at Summer TLI for your club to receive credit for one-half of DCP goal #9 for training on your club’s Distinguished Performance Report.
If you find any discrepancies, report them immediately to: TLI@aztoastmasters.org by September 20, 2021.

DISTRICT COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 18th @ 2:00 PM MST (AZ)
September 18th is the District Council meeting (virtual) at 2:00 pm MST (AZ). We will need a quorum to vote. Presidents and VPEs should look for a registration email with a link. Presidents and VPEs must register to vote; proxies are not allowed. Please register and plan to attend so we have a quorum. Click HERE for more info.
DUES RENEWAL INFORMATION FOR CLUB OFFICERS
Thursday, September 30, 2021, is the deadline for submitting dues to Toastmasters International. Online renewals were opened in Club Central on August 16, 2021. The minimum requirement for a club to remain in good standing is eight member payments including at least three renewals. Any member who doesn’t renew by the deadline will lose access to Base Camp in Pathways.

SMEDLEY AWARD
Smedley campaign deadline is September 30, 2021
Will your club receive the Smedley Award ribbon to display on your banner this year? The Smedley Membership Building Campaign (August 1 to September 30) is an annual campaign in honor of our founder, Ralph Smedley. Clubs that add five new, reinstated, or dual members to their club by September 30, 2021 will earn a special Smedley ribbon to display with the club banner.
Last year, the following four District 3 Toastmasters clubs received the Smedley Award and ribbon. Well done!!

ZOOM DISCOUNT FOR CLUBS
TI WHQ sent a survey on Tuesday, August 31, to all club presidents informing them that a Zoom discount code will be available to their club. Each club that completes the survey requesting the discount will be emailed a code, along with instructions on how to redeem it. The discount is 50% off Pro, Business, Large Meetings, and Webinars and can be applied to either a monthly or annual subscription. Club officers that have any questions regarding the discount code can email clubquality@toastmasters.org.
CALL FOR CLUB COACHES & MORE
Effective July 1, 2021, coaches can also earn District leader credit, one of the requirements to achieve DTM status. [Ref: August 19, 2021 Toastmasters International email to Club Officers]. To receive district leader credit, a club coach must help the club achieve Distinguished status or higher and reach a minimum of 20 paid members. The coach must serve a minimum of six months.
RISE UP and become a Club Coach!
As a club coach, you have the opportunity to build membership, help struggling clubs and this year you can earn district leader credit, one requirement towards achieving DTM status. For more information: contact your club officer or cgd@aztoastmasters.org.
PATHWAYS – NEW AND IMPROVED LEVEL 1
Coming soon. Level 1 in the Pathways education program will add two new projects: “Writing a Speech with Purpose” and “Introduction to Vocal Variety and Body Language.” The “Ice Breaker” and “Evaluation and Feedback” projects will remain in Level 1. The “Researching and Presenting” project will be repurposed as an elective in Level 3.
When will this take effect?
These changes are anticipated by the end of the calendar year – the new Level 1 will only be available in paths selected after the launch of the two new projects.
