What is TLI?

Toastmasters Leadership Institute is a training offered twice per year (summer and winter). The main purpose for TLI is to train our clubs’ officers, but that’s not all it is! It’s a half-day inspirational training that will educate and inspire you! We have selected personable, kind, knowledgeable facilitators. It’s open to all members and we encourage everyone to attend!

It is required for club officers! So, if you’re an incoming club officer please plan on attending!

We know that everyone has busy lives and all officers may not be able to attend the same session, however we do recommend as many officers as possible attend.  The trainings will be interactive and is an opportunity for your team to build camaraderie.

The cost is $12/person or $60 for all 7 officers to attend the same session.

If all 7 officers are attending, purchase the “7  Club Officers” ticket.

If you are registering fewer than 7 officers, purchase the “1 Club Officer” ticket and in the drop down menu on the far right, choose the number of people you are registering.

You will need the names, email addresses and member numbers for everyone that you are registering.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Business casual or casual smart is suggested.  If you have club or company apparel, you can wear that.  It is recommended that you bring a sweater or cover up, as the classrooms may be cool.

First, congratulations on being elected to your club’s executive board!

Each officer will attend a Nuts ‘n Bolts session which is specific to the role and will focus on giving the officers the information that they need to know to do their jobs.

There will be a Keynote Speaker and the Main Sessions will focus on the member experience, healthy clubs and effective speakers and leaders.

No, there is not a virtual option.  TLI only has In-Person or On-Demand offerings. See more below about On Demand TLI.

No, the sessions will not be recorded.

Summer 2024 On-Demand TLI will be available on the District 3 website starting on June 17, 2024; please visit https://aztoastmasters.org/on-demand-tli/.

One of the cornerstones of the Toastmasters educational program is mentorship. It’s not just about what you take away from Toastmasters, it’s about what you give back. TLI is a way for more experienced Toastmasters, like yourself, to put newer officers at ease and provide tips and reassurance as they take on the challenge of a club officer role. A well placed comment or even a short hallway conversation can have a huge impact.

The TLI Team makes note of who attends TLI.  Credit for attending will be shown on your club’s DCP Report on the Toastmasters International Website and by club and position on the District 3 website.  Please allow for 2-3 weeks following TLI for credit to be assigned.

No.  Club members holding multiple officer roles may receive credit for each office.
