District 3 Club Officer Announcements

August 28, 2020

Dear Club Officers of District 3,

We are honored to bring you the following announcements and information for your clubs.

The biannual District Council meeting will be held online on September 19, 2020 2:00 pm.

Meeting link and credential registration details coming soon. Please note, you will have to register your credentials PRIOR to the business meeting to be eligible to cast your votes during the meeting.

Learn more about the District Council and view downloads on the district website at https://aztoastmasters.org/district-info/district-information.

We are leaving Mailchimp and transitioning to a new email newsletter platform: AWeber. This change will not only save the district a lot of money, but will also help us promote our programs and events to our members AND promote the benefits of Toastmasters outside the organization. We are also moving the online newsletter, the Roadrunner, to the new platform at the same time. This is our chance to give back to members and clubs and help the entire district stay connected with new and improved district newsletters.

The next email from District 3 will be delivered to your inbox through the AWeber platform, you are automatically subscribed to the mailing list. If you wish to continue receiving district announcements and the Roadrunner, there is not action needed. If you DO NOT want to receive any announcements for district events, training opportunities, business meetings, or newsletters – then simply click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email. You can resubscribe at any time.

Thank you for your support and participation in making our district a family of Toastmasters. If you are interested in contributing content (articles or announcements) to the Roadrunner, please email roadrunner@aztoastmasters.org or prm@aztoastmasters.org.

The Smedley Campaign starts August 1st and goes through the end of September. Add 5 New, Dual, or Reinstated Members to your club and earn a $25 Amazon gift card or Toastmasters International gift certificate. Your Choice! Email our Membership Chair, Venkesh, at membership@aztoastmasters.org with the name of the 5 members and which gift card you want to choose.

Race against the clock! Your goal is to achieve the highest club renewal percentage possible and claim your prize level by emailing Tami Wedll at dues@aztoastmasters.org by September 15, 2020.

The Roaring ‘20s:

  • The first 20 clubs to achieve 100% renewals and send in the email to claim the prize will be awarded a $70 Amazon Gift Card, will receive a Club Retention Award, and will be featured in various communication and social media highlights!
  • The first 20 clubs to achieve 90% renewals and send in the email to claim the prize will be awarded a $50 Amazon Gift Card, will receive a Club Retention Award, and will be featured in various communication and social media highlights!
  • The first 20 clubs to achieve 80% renewals and send in the email to claim the prize will be awarded a $30 Amazon Gift Card, will receive a Club Retention Award, and will be featured in various communication and social media highlights!
  • The first 20 clubs to achieve 70% renewals and send in the email to claim the prize will receive a Club Retention Award and will be featured in various communication and social media highlights!

1. In order to qualify, your club must be an Eligible Club (a minimum of 8 paid members)
2. Clubs will only be awarded one prize, and are awarded based on the email time and date for each level

  • Example – a club achieves 80% renewals and sends in the email. They are among the first 20 clubs and earns the 80% prize level. That same club then achieves 90% and sends in another email. If they were one of the first 20 clubs at the 90% level, they will earn that incentive only…not both the 80% and 90%. However, if they were not one of the first 20 clubs at the 90%, they will still earn the 80% prize level per their original email qualifier.

Make sure you check that your TLI officer credit has been assigned correctly, the list is published on the website at https://aztoastmasters.org/2019-2020-summer-tli-credit. The deadline to provide updates or corrections is September 15th, email correction requests to PQD@aztoastmasters.org.

The Toastmasters District 3 podcast is similar to a radio show: we feature stories, advice, presentation and leadership tips, insights and perspectives from the members of Toastmasters District in Arizona.

Our podcast is recorded and available to listen and download for free at any time.

We do strive to ensure our content will be found helpful by all listeners.  Most of the content is related to Toastmasters’ education and leadership programs and may contain “Toastmasters-speak” that a non-member may be unfamiliar with. Listeners will be empowered to continue developing their own communication and leadership skills and how becoming a member can accelerate that learning, wherever the life journey takes them.
